Artist Services
Artist services will be an integral part of HMCP operations and will be extended to all exhibiting and archived photographers.
Services include:
- Registry of biographic and bibliographic information and, reference cataloging of image portfolios
- Referral service for those who desire to accept commissions
- Act as sales agent for works on exhibition (if desired, and not in conflict with contractual agreements between artist and his/her other sales representatives)
- Serve as a catalyst to bring artists, gallerists, collectors and publishers together for their mutual benefit
- Sponsor periodic lectures and seminars to provide educational opportunities for artists in the areas of aesthetics, technology, and sound business practices.
Collectors' Services
In keeping with its mission to foster greater awareness of and appreciation for contemporary photography, HMCP will assist art collectors in building their personal, corporate, or foundation collections. To this end, services to collectors will include:
- Introducing collectors and their agents to the work of photographers exhibiting at HMCP or, with holdings in it's collections
- Arrange personal meetings between artists and collectors, including studio visits and portfolio showings
- Facilitate direct contact between collectors and gallerists, sales agents & other collectors
- Sponsor periodic lectures and seminars; presentations by curators, gallerists, art dealers and publishers
Community Services
Service to the community is central to the mission of HMCP. Fostering ties between the museum and visitors, citizens of the community-at-large, the academic community and other arts related organizations is vitally important.
Services to the community will include:
- Special museum gallery open hours to coincide with community events, select Shea Theater presentations, bi-annual town wide art walks, and special holiday and other events that may be appropriate
- Museum tours and in-classroom presentations for primary and secondary school students and teachers
- Serving the senior citizen community through museum tours, lectures, and on-location presentations
- Providing group meeting space for public or private events
- Artist lectures and seminars open to the public
